  1. just trying to see how this works

  2. PK mentioned that we need God’s supernatural favor in our lives and referred to Luke 2:52 “Jesus grew in wisdom & stature & favor with God & man.” I find it interesting that Jesus needed to grow in favor… and with God? He was God’s perfect Son. If Jesus needed to “grow in favor..” then how much more do I need it!!!

  3. Jeremy and Elizabeth enjoyed the new class on Sunday. Elizabeth’s mother and step-father, Linda and Bryson Scott, attended the Smith’s Sunday School class also. Wish we were there…

  4. Great service last night at Wednesday Night Church. Re-reading, studying Jabez.
    Good stuff!

  5. George and I are going through the Jabez Study Guide together each evening.
We look forward to all that God has to teach us as a couple as we spend this time together.
Special thanks to Jacob & Crystal for leading our Sunday MOB!

  6. I’m always cautious when an author takes a very small portion of the Bible, especially a mention as tiny as this, and creates books, studies and doctrine on it. However, I am praying for wisdom and understanding in this study and know that there is not one insignificant word in the Bible. After one week in the study, I remain optimistic about the direction of the study and have found myself in greater dialogue with the Lord regarding it. So far, it’s been a good experience.

  7. For me Prayer of Jabez is about a guy, who was headed nowhere in life, prayed a simple prayer, and his whole life was turned around by a Wonderful God who heard and answered his request!
I like that ‘kinda God’ and that ‘kinda story’.
Great story line … Great simple prayer!

  8. I’m really enjoying this new website. We can get some great discussions going here!

  9. The Prayer of Jabez
is wonderful.PK is right, when he said this morning ,Ask,Seek,Knock, the key to a successful prayer life.As a Christian I agree to make my Bible TOP Priority, and pledge, to listen for God to develop, MY Mind ,Heart, Soul and strength, for his kingdom .

  10. Linda, I was feeling the same way, that building a doctrine on 1 verse was shakey…however, the Lord showed me otherwise. I was confused: Look at the Jabez prayer in the NIV vs KJV, complete opposite. I was concerned and the Lord spoke to me, and confirmed for me that both translations are correct, and to continue the Jabez study and Trust in HIM. He began the study with a bang and showed up in a powerful way!!

I am thankful for The Harvest, and thrilled that it’s on twitter and facebook! Using today’s technology to reach the lost is wise!!!

  11. Thanks Chris,
You are on it! Top Priority to the Word!
Commitment to personal development and spiritual growth!
    Awesome!!

  12. Spoke with Nettie Hammond, who is attending the meeting at Indar’s house on Monday nights, and she loves it! She feels so empowered and inspired to pray and believe for her children. God is so faithful!!!

  13. anybody get anything out of Jabez study today?

  14. I am studing Jabez on my on, because of my work hours, so I am not sure if I am hitting the mark, but today this is what I recieved from my study. Please give me some feed back,
In breaking down The prayer of Jabez, as he called on God to hear him, I feel that he had to have a consistant prayer life with God, which means he was always speaking to God. I feel that this is part of why he was more honourable, our notes show that Matt7:7-8 that talking with God means, it is a Blessing to God for us to ask him to enlarge our coast.. Because God loves you he is ur father and what child would not ask his father+ most anything, we as God’s children seek God’s blessings on our lives.

  15. I’m loving the small group study. Pastor Antoine and Krissi have shown such gracious hospitality.

This is the second time I’ve been through BW’s book and it amazes me how much influence a tiny, one sentence prayer can have!

  16. Hey Chris. I believe you are on the mark. I was re-reading a section the other day on page 24 of Bible Study devotional. Day 2 where “territory” is defined.
Wow, re-read it … I want to “make a bigger mark for God”!
Lord, enlarge my territory, for your glory and praise!

  17. we limit our own boundries,if we do not heed his calling on our lives,we need to be well into his listening area when he speaks. This is what I learned in my study today..

  18. Thank You pastor for today’s study in Jabez, I pray that everyone studing Jabez will have a Spiritual Passion for life, growth,Grace, and enlarging their territory for the purpose of God.

    • Yes, it is about grace and growth for the purpose of the kingdom of God. Passion- oh, Promise – if, and Possession – my. Those small words do make a difference.

  19. Jabaz put God first in his life. I see a significance that he was of the tribe of Judah, the territory of David’s kingdom. For Jabaz to have cried out to God, I think there was great pain. However, for God to answer Jabaz’ prayer, it would have to be in line with God’s will. So, I think that like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob this was not a prosperity prayer. It sounds like a prayer to keep in line with God’s devine will and laws. So, God kept him from harm and blessed him for a purpose. Just like he does for all christian’s today, through his son Jesus.

  20. Jabez was a “comeback kid”! didn’t give up, persevered, changed the potential outcome of a bad start!
    Jabez, you da’ man!

  21. ministry territory has been enlarged as we opened our home for the first time for the small group.Learning more about God of Jabez and the fellowship with one another has been such a blessing.

  22. Jabez had insight. We should never give up…prayer brings miracles that are definitely “all God”.

  23. Anyone had any “Jabez appointments” this week?

  24. I appreciated the teaching last night. I see our prayers have purpose and carry with it result. Our smallest of prayers can carry big results. We should say our prayers like Jesus taught us. Wonderful and insightful. Thank you!

  25. The prayer of Jabez studies are having a huge effect, and not only on me! This past week my former atheist brother told me that I was sounding more and more like a minister…and that it made him notice some things. Then he added “God tries showing us in soooo many ways how much he loves us, and if we miss it, how dissappointed and hurt God must be”. Then he asked “how do I share about God without scaring people away”? I nearly fell off my chair! God has indeed, increased my territory! My brother has been reading the book of Proverbs and asked what book of the Bible he should start reading next! What a precious gift this was for me.

  26. I should add I’ve been a believer nearly 24 yrs now and been praying for my brother and witnessing to him all that time and for years and years he would say “enough Nance, I’m tired of this religious stuff”. So those of you out there who have loved ones who don’t know the Lord yet, never ever give up!

  27. Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with SNOW

Isn’t God’s work beautiful and indescribable?? You ARE amazing God!!

  28. Thanks Pastor Indar for your leadership with the Jabez study!

  29. I am happy to do it! We have great people serving the Lord at The Harvest. They are the ones carrying these small groups and making them successful. Great job guys, appreciate you!
