Great kick off Sunday to our Be The Church series. Our Pastors brought great messages on what it means to “Be the Church”. We’d love to hear what you took away from our first Sunday in this series.

Also, our Don’t Go To Church, Be The Church t-shirts will be available on Wednesday night and Sunday. I know as some of us have worn these shirts in the community, the boldness of the front has created many conversations and ministry opportunities for us. Great way to Be The Church by being relational.

Backpack Roundup
The schools send their “thank you’s” to The Harvest. I wish each one of you could have been there to deliver the backpacks this week!

I walked into the office of one school with five backpacks in tow. The principal saw me from her office, came out to greet me and asked what the backpacks were for. I told her that the church had a Backpack Roundup, these were for her kids and there were more in the car. She was very thankful, started to pick one up and realized they were filled with supplies. Her eyes welled up with tears of joy! Her secretary was biting her lip to keep from crying also!

At one of the other schools, I had a scheduled meeting with the principal. We took care of usual business, then I told her about the Backpack Roundup and that we had some backpacks in my car for her kids. For a minute, she was speechless! Then she expressed her gratefulness and asked me to pass it on to the church congregation.

Everyone from the vice-principals to the custodians helped take them into the schools and all were amazed and thankful for the generosity shown by The Harvest to their schools.

Before we headed to the schools with them, we handed out some backpacks to our Harvest families that are in tough times right now. All were very grateful for the love expressed by the church. We also were able to donate some supplies to the Week of Bounty. The final total for Backpack Roundup was 107. I am looking into doing Backpack Roundup again next summer!

From me, many thanks for “being the church” to our community!

Small Group Kick-Off Coming in September
Are you interested in hosting a small group this fall?
Email Indar at grace4u@the-harvest.org.

We will be collecting a lot of items for the Week of Bounty. The week is all about donating bikes, clothes, furniture and just about anything you can imagine. The items will be given to folks who would be blessed to have them. Last year, we donated one and a half tractor trailer loads of good items to great people. That means, we all need to pull together to make that happen again. If you are interested, email Ruth Cannon at ruth@the-harvest.orgto be a part of the volunteer team for this year’s Week of Bounty.

We will need a lot of the volunteer help on Saturday (7th) and Sunday (8th) to load the tractor trailer. Also, we need volunteers that want to go to Bishopville on Saturday, August 14th. We will be leaving 378 Campus at 6 am. Biscuits and coffee will be ready for you to give you a little fuel for the morning.

Also, if you have any gently used boxes that are still in good shape and you are willing to donate them for this event, please email grace4u@the-harvest.org to let us know how many you can bring. We are expecting to have a great week.

Join us during July as we begin our new series: I AM

Over the next several weeks, our Pastors and Ministry Leaders will be teaching on the various “I Ams” throughout the Bible.  As you hear these messages, please take a few moments to comment on on our Blog, what God is saying to you through this series.  You will see many folk’s notes, but also our Pastors and Ministry Leaders will be jotting some additional thoughts as well.  Let’s begin by some of you simply sharing some of the I AMs that you know and what that means to you.

Finish this sentence; I AM _________________________.

That means _____________________________________ to me.

Last Sunday, we began our new series: Past Present Future.
Share some ways in which you’ve been able to re-align your past.
